Hands at India Design ID – the biggest design event in the country
Hands participated in India Design ID 2022 – the country’s most noteworthy luxury design event attended by the best in design, architecture, and interiors. Four new carpet collections, two of which were exclusive previews, were showcased at the event; which was held between 12th and 15th May.
To go by visitor accounts, the Hands booth was nothing short of a grand spectacle. Here, deep and unusual explorations in space, time and form were showcased; emotive works transcending art, architecture, the unusual, and the extra-terrestrial – all, through the art of carpetmaking. Drawing the wonder-filled gaze of over 2,000 architects, designers, and customers, from India and across the world.
Here is a glimpse of the four collections that were on show.
Unusual in shape and with deeply immersive narratives, Forma II carpets inspired almost child-like awe and amazement from visitors. These are contemporary and transitional carpets inspired by the grand mosaic of the universe.
The new Urbane II collection of fine hand knotted and hand tufted carpets is inspired by the dynamic world of urban architecture. This especially caught the fancy of those with a strong inclination toward contemporary home interiors.
L’Ornement was launched alongside Urbane II. The collection is a whimsical celebration of the ornate, featuring hand knotted carpets in hand spun wool and bamboo silk. An ode to Rococo – the 18th century French art movement.
Visitors also got an exclusive preview of EmpireX – a collection of exquisitely hand knotted carpets in wool and pure silk. Each, a contemporary reinterpretation of the timeless Persian rug.
The event garnered a lot of praise for Hands’ four new carpet collections and project carpets. This aside, stimulating conversations with the country’s leading architects, interior designers, and august customers made the event all the more memorable for the team.
